Sequence dancing is probably the most popular form of social dancing in the country today, and although programmes can vary from area to area, most depend on a regular supply of new dances to keep their events attractive and competitive, and the services we provide are designed to achieve this.
There are usually around forty new dances each year, one-third each Modern, Latin and Old Time, now called Classical Sequence. These new dances emanate from competitions held all over the country at dance festivals held by the various dance associations, and by certain individual promoters.
Many of these are held on a Sunday, and we usually receive the winning scripts late in the day . They arrive in a typewritten form and we retype them on our computer, changing the size and format.
The scripts are then sent to our clients according to the type of service they have requested, and usually accompany an issue of our magazine Sequence Dancing World which has been prepared in advance. There are usually around ten issues each year, the last of which includes a list of dates of the following year's new dance competitions
We have two main services - the Premier service which usually goes out the day after the scripts arrive, and the Standard service the following day. These are sent out by first class and second class post respectively whether there is an issue of the magazine due or not.
For each service there is a choice of size, most popular is A5, whilst the option of A4 service is for those who require a much larger typestyle.
When there is a competition resulting in only one script, the scripts on the Standard services will not be sent on its own, they will be sent with the next nearest posting, and the cost of these services reflects this, and so if you require the scripts very quickly you should subscribe to the Premier service.
